('I', 'me', 'we') refers to the software developer who developed this application. I built the Doused app. This SERVICE is provided by me and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service.

If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. Doused is built to be local-first and privacy-first: your health and behaviour data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to export it. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

Doused does not require an account. You never need to provide a name, email address, or any other contact details to use the app.

To provide the Service, the app stores the following information only on your device:

This data is stored in a local database on your phone. It is never uploaded to my servers, because there are no servers. It never leaves the device except when you use the Export my data feature in Settings, which creates a file that you control and share as you wish. You can permanently delete all app data at any time from Settings → Delete all my data.

Data processing for in-app purchases

RevenueCat

In the case of in-app purchases (Doused Pro), purchase and entitlement handling is performed via RevenueCat Inc., 300 Euclid Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94118, USA. RevenueCat receives a random anonymous app-user identifier and the purchase receipt issued by Apple App Store or Google Play so that your subscription status can be verified and restored across reinstalls. No health, smoking, or behaviour data is ever sent to RevenueCat. Your data is passed on in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b GDPR exclusively for the purpose of payment and subscription processing and only to the extent necessary for this.

Payment itself is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own privacy policies. I never see your card details.

Notifications

If you grant permission, Doused schedules local reminders and milestone notifications on your device (for example, encouragement during a danger window you configured). These are generated entirely on your phone; no push-notification service or remote server is involved. Notification content never includes cigarette imagery, and you can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Analytics and Advertising

Doused contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no tracking. I do not collect usage statistics, crash reports, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. This Service does not use these "cookies" explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries in future that use "cookies" to collect information and improve their services; if the app integrates such services then you will be informed. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

Security

I value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. Because your data is stored locally, its security also depends on your device passcode and backups. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Doused is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Health milestone information shown in the app is general, population-level guidance sourced from public health organisations and is not personal medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that information from Our servers.

This Service may contain links to other sites, such as quitline and health-source websites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by me. Therefore, I strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites.
